After taking control of Argentina’s national soccer team, Coach Carlos Bilardo becomes the target of criticism from players, staff and frustrated fans. Meanwhile, an untested Diego Maradona faces a rocky road to the World Cup.

After qualifying for the 1986 World Cup, Bilardo's path towards victory is complicated by training challenges, bad press and a government plot to replace him. In Mexico, Argentina finally gets the chance to prove themselves on the pitch.

After a successful run in Mexico, Bilardo immediately sets his sights on the next World Cup, pushing both his players and his family to the limit.

After stepping back from coaching Argentina’s national team, Bilardo continues to impart his knowledge around the world.
