Apple Garden

Early 20th century, a small Armenian town. Widowed Martyn, the owner of a beautiful apple orchard, hires a woman as an assistant and soon proposes to Nunufar. But his daughters, the heirs of the house and orchard, are indifferent to their father's newfound happiness. In a fit of anger, the eldest daughter strikes the pregnant Nunufar, causing the beloved of Martyn to die along with her unborn child. Driven mad by grief, the father decides to destroy the house and orchard, but thoughts of his grandchildren compel him to accept his loss and embrace life as it is.
